Tube and Tube Sheet Welding

Welding of tubes to the tube sheet in shell and tube heat exchangers is critical for ensuring integrity and performance. The C46400 alloy can be welded using techniques such as TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) or MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding, which provide strong joints and minimal distortion.

1. Pre-welding inspection.

• Dimensional tolerance test;.

• Spot weld inspection.

2. Welding inspection.

• Welding start and finish points.
• Welding specification checking.
• Depth of fusion and molding of the first pass and the second pass.

3. Post-welding inspection.

• Appearance and molding inspection of the weld.
• Gas tightness test (0.03~0.05MPa.) or helium leakage of pipe and tube joints.
• Surface MT or PT inspection
• Non-destructive radiographic inspection.
