ASTM A240 WP304L-S Tubesheet Fix The Tube Bundle In The Heat Exchanger And Boiler
ASTM A240 WP304L-S Tubesheet is a key component made of low-carbon austenitic stainless steel 304L (UNS S30403), which complies with the ASTM A240 standard and is designed for pressure vessels and heat exchange equipment.
Its carbon content is ≤0.03%, which significantly reduces the risk
of intergranular corrosion. It has excellent uniform corrosion
resistance (adaptable to dilute acid and organic media) and welding
performance, with a tensile strength of ≥485 MPa and an elongation
of ≥40%.
The tube sheet is solution treated (1040-1100°C water quenching) to
ensure the uniformity of the structure. It is widely used in
chemical heat exchangers, food and pharmaceutical equipment, and
nuclear power low-pressure systems. It is suitable for temperatures
≤425°C and low chloride ion environments. After surface pickling
and passivation, the corrosion resistance is further enhanced. It
is an economical and reliable medium and low temperature corrosion
resistance solution, but it is recommended to use 316L or duplex
steel instead in high Cl⁻ or high temperature and high pressure
scenarios.

Design and application of tubesheet
① Core function
Structural function: fix the tube bundle in the heat exchanger or
boiler, bear the pressure difference between the tube side and the
shell side and thermal expansion stress.
Sealing: ensure the sealing between the tubesheet and the heat exchange tube by expansion or welding.
② Typical application scenarios
Chemical heat exchanger: handle chloride ion-containing media (such
as seawater coolers).
Food and pharmaceutical: sanitary heat exchange system to avoid metal ion contamination.
Nuclear power equipment: low-pressure feedwater heater tubesheet (need to resist radiation embrittlement).
