DTH Drill Pipe Overview
Professional-grade drilling component designed for demanding
applications including rock drilling, anchor drilling, geothermal
well drilling, water well drilling, and underground coal mine
operations. Each pipe consists of a rod barrel, male joint, and
female joint, offering a complete solution for down-the-hole hammer
systems.
Key Functions
- Delivers the DTH hammer accurately to the bottom of the hole
- Transmits torque, axial pressure, and impact vibration
- Supplies compressed air through the center hole to power the DTH
hammer
- Works seamlessly with rotary air supply mechanisms and propulsion
systems
Built for Extreme Conditions
DTH drill pipes endure complex loads: impact vibration, torque,
axial pressure, and abrasive sandblasting from rock slag discharged
between the hole wall and the pipe.
Engineering Features:
- High strength to resist mechanical stress
- Excellent stiffness for accurate drilling
- Superior impact toughness to withstand repeated shocks
Advanced Manufacturing Process
| Feature | Benefit |
|---|
| Professional friction welding | High welding strength, no weak points |
| High-precision CNC machining | Accurate thread connection for reliable linking |
| Vacuum conditioning & heat treatment | Enhanced torque performance & extended service life |
Connection & Working Principle
- Both ends have connecting threads
- One end connects to rotary air supply mechanism
- Other end connects to DTH hammer
- DTH hammer bit is installed at the front end of the hammer
- During operation:
- Rotary mechanism rotates the drill string
- Compressed air flows through the hollow pipe
- DTH hammer impacts the bit to break rock
- Air lifts rock cuttings out of the hole
- Propulsion mechanism advances the whole drilling assembly
Applications
- Gas drainage (exploitation) drilling in underground coal mines
- Water exploration holes
- Grouting holes in stable geological conditions
- Mining, geological exploration, hydropower projects
- Both conventional drilling and impact rotary drilling
