DI Flange Elbows Used In Water Supply Drainage Industrial Fluid Transportation
Product description
This DN150 cast iron flange elbow features a flange plate structure, allowing for easy bolted connection to other pipes and equipment, ensuring stable assembly and sealing of piping systems. This type of elbow is commonly used in water supply and drainage, industrial fluid transportation, and other fields, redirecting pipes and directing fluid flow in 45° or 90° directions. Its cast iron construction provides excellent strength, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance, making it suitable for a variety of working conditions.

Application Scenarios
Building water supply and drainage systems: In residential, commercial, and public buildings, cast iron flange
elbows are used to connect drainage pipes, redirect water flow, and
ensure smooth drainage. For example, in bathroom and kitchen
drainage piping, cast iron flange elbows with various angles (such
as 45° and 90°) are often used to accommodate complex pipe layouts.
Municipal drainage projects: In urban rainwater drainage and sewage collection systems, cast
iron flange elbows can withstand high water pressure and flow,
adapt to various underground pipe laying requirements, and ensure
the normal operation of urban drainage systems.
Industrial piping systems: In the chemical, power, and metallurgical industries, cast iron
flange elbows are used to transport various industrial fluids, such
as corrosive liquids and high-temperature steam. For applications
requiring high pipe strength and corrosion resistance, cast iron
flange elbows can meet these requirements.
Fire protection piping systems: In fire protection systems, reliable pipe connections are required
to ensure the smooth flow of firefighting water or fire
extinguishing agents in emergencies. Cast iron flange elbows, with
their excellent strength and stability, can be used in fire
protection piping installations to ensure fire safety.
Maintenance of Cast Iron Flanges
Regular Inspections
Appearance Inspection: Regularly inspect the appearance of cast
iron flange elbows for corrosion, wear, cracks, and other signs.
For flange elbows in buried pipelines, excavate and inspect as
necessary, focusing on the flange sealing surface and bolts.
Seal Inspection: During operation, inspect flange joints for leaks.
For pipelines conveying liquids, inspect for signs of leaks such as
water or oil stains. For pipelines conveying gaseous media, apply
soapy water to the flange joints and observe for bubbles to
determine if there are leaks.
Bolt Tightening Inspection: Check for loose bolts. Any loose bolts
should be tightened promptly with a wrench to the specified torque.
Anti-Corrosion Treatment
Surface Coating Maintenance: If cast iron flange elbows have an
anti-corrosion coating (such as anti-rust paint or asphalt), any
damage to the coating should be repaired promptly. First, remove
rust and impurities from the damaged area, then reapply the
anti-corrosion coating.
Cathodic Protection: For buried cast iron flange elbows, cathodic protection methods such as sacrificial anodes or impressed current can be used to prevent corrosion. Regularly check the working condition of the cathodic protection system to ensure proper operation.
Responding to Abnormal Situations
Leakage Treatment: If a leak is detected at a flange connection, first determine the cause. If the gasket is damaged, replace it after the pipeline system has been shut down and the pressure has been released. If the flange has cracks or pinholes, the entire cast iron flange elbow may need to be replaced.
Erosion Wear Treatment: Cast iron flange elbows in pipelines conveying media containing particulate matter may be subject to erosion wear. If the wear is severe, consider adding a wear-resistant lining to the inner wall of the elbow or replacing the elbow with a more wear-resistant material.
