Application:

The 4134W027 and 4134W003 oil coolers are built for the Perkins 1104 Series engines, specifically the 1104A-44, 1104C-44, 1104C-E44, 1104C-44T and 1104D-44 turbo-charged four-cylinder 4.4 L diesels that power Massey Ferguson 5400, 6400 and 7400 series tractors, Landini Rex and Legend Series, JCB 3CX backhoe loaders, Fastrac utility vehicles, 50–100 kVA generator sets and the latest generation of compact telehandlers and skid-steer loaders. Because the 1104 family succeeded the 4.236/T4.236/AT4.236 4.0 L engines and retained the same block-mounted heat-exchange interface, these coolers are also retro-fitted to earlier 4.236 derivatives during overhaul, giving them a broad service footprint across agricultural tractors, combine harvesters, generator sets and industrial machinery.

Technical specifications:

The cooler is a 14-plate, donut-type heat exchanger that nests in the 98.48 mm counterbore of the cylinder block. Plate stack outside diameter is 114 mm, overall height including the sealing flange is 80 mm, and fourteen stainless-steel plates deliver an oil-side heat-transfer area of 532 cm². Rated heat-rejection capacity is 8.2 kW at 90 °C oil temperature and 75 °C coolant temperature under full-load conditions.

Material & performance features:

The plate pack is vacuum-brazed 304 stainless steel for maximum corrosion resistance against modern long-life coolants and biodiesel-compatible lubricants, while the aluminium shell is hard-anodised to MIL-A-8625 Type II for superior salt-spray and chemical resistance. Internal turbulator fins increase film coefficient by 20 % over earlier 9-plate designs, keeping oil pressure drop below 0.38 bar at 80 °C.
