1.Description

The Abbe Refractometer is an instrument capable of determining the refractive index nD and the average dispersion nF-nC of transparent and semi-transparent liquids or solids (mainly transparent liquids). If the instrument is equipped with a thermostat, the refractive index nD can be measured at temperatures ranging from 0 to 70°. The refractive index and the average dispersion are one of the most important optical constants of a substance, and can be used in conjunction with the optical properties, purity, concentration, and dispersion of a substance.
