The Passport Reader is a compact, robust and quality-assured device for MRZ and chip reading. It is based on world leading OCR technology and designed for extracting data from ICAO 9303 standard travel documents.
This device is perfect for manufacturers to integrate into their devices. It has been specially designed for self service kiosk to help the integrator or kiosk manufacturer to fit into their machine. Once the passport is inserted on the scanning surface, the machine start to read the machine readable zone (MRZ) from Passport, Visa, ID card, Driver License and other travel documents automatically within two seconds.

The Passport Reader device captures white, infrared image and ultraviolet image from various kind of documents. In a simultaneous action, the passport reader also decodes the machine readable zone (MRZ) and processes eData, including name, data of birth, gender, document number, date of expiry, the holder's image etc, from the chip.

Generally Speaking, it will take about 2 seconds to capture the images and extract the printed data through OCR technology and read the chip data from contactless RFID chip. Its unique design makes it ideal for integration with self-serve type kiosks at airports, hotels, banks, transportation terminals.

Usually, one scanner is packed in one small thick carton and the size is 29*26*26 cm. If a customer places a large order, small cartons will be packed in larger carton.
