Nylon rope is one of the strongest of the industrial man made
fibres. It was first to be introduced of the polymer based fibre ropes and the name Nylon is used in reference to all man-made
fibre ropes.
It is available in four colours – Black, Navy Blue, Black and Olive
with a very smooth surface, made up from multifilament yarns, it
has a superior strength to all the other polymer based industrial
ropes and has excellent wear capabilities it is also resistant to
multiple loadings. Because of this, its high stretch combined with
its high strength gives it excellent resistance to shock
loading.This rope absorbs water and sinks, it is prone to attack by
acids but is resistant to most alkalis and tends to shrink with
age.Nylon is a good old stable of the synthetic fibre ropes. Not to bad
as an all rounder so very popular for use in anchoring due to it's
great elasticity (stretch) with good strength.
Nylon rope has a high breaking strength and good chafing
resistance. Due to it's elasticity it can absorb high peak loads.
The breaking strength stated are based on new and unused ropes and
might vary by +/- 5 %. The ropes offered are meant to be used in
the fishing industry. If used for other purpose the relevant safety
regulation would have to be observed.
