Huawei SSN3EFS4 03020KHU EFS4 Fast Ethernet Processing Board

The Huawei SSN3EFS4 (Product Code: 03020KHU), also known as the EFS4, is a 4-port 10M/100M Fast Ethernet Processing Board with integrated LAN switch capabilities. It is designed for Huawei‘s OptiX OSN series multi-service optical transmission platforms, including the OSN1500, OSN2500, OSN3500, and OSN7500.

This board serves as a key component in MSTP (Multi-Service Transport Platform) networks, providing Ethernet service access, bandwidth management, and Layer 2 switching for telecommunications applications. It enables seamless integration of Fast Ethernet traffic into SDH transport networks through GFP encapsulation, VCAT (Virtual Concatenation), and LCAS (Link Capacity Adjustment Scheme).

The SSN3EFS4 is the N3 functional version of the EFS4 series, succeeding the discontinued N1 and N2 versions. The key difference between versions is the maximum uplink bandwidth – N1EFS4 supports 622 Mbit/s, while N2EFS4 and N3EFS4 support 1.25 Gbit/s. The SSN3EFS4 can substitute for both N1EFS4 and N2EFS4 boards.

The SSN3EFS4 supports comprehensive Layer 2 switching capabilities:

  • Supports 2K blacklist and 2K static MAC addresses (shared)

  • Supports 16K MAC address table with dynamic learning and aging

  • Supports dynamic MAC address query

  • Maximum 16 Virtual Bridges (VB) with up to 30 logical ports per VB

• EVPLAN (Ethernet Virtual Private LAN):

  • Based on VB+VLAN data isolation
