Geocell is a kind of three-dimensional reticulated cell structure, which is made of REINFORCED HDPE sheet material and welded by high-speed welding. Generally by ultrasonic needle welding. Due to engineering needs, some holes are drilled on the diaphragm. It can stretch freely, shrink and fold when transporting, open and fill with earth rock or concrete material when in use, forming a structure with strong lateral restriction and large stiffness. It can be used as cushion to treat soft foundation and increase the bearing capacity of foundation. It can also be laid on the slope to form slope protection structure, and can also be used to build retaining structure.

Geocell Confinement System Construction site

(1) Geocell tensioning. The integrity of geocell should be checked before on-site tensioning, and the broken geocell should not be used. When the geocell is tensioned, the tensile force should be controlled to ensure that the geocell is restored without deformation or damage.


(2) Geocell cutting. The laying length of geocell must be 1m larger than the width of subgrade. When the length exceeds the width of the subgrade and needs to be cut, the material in the grid must be filled before cutting to ensure that the grid does not retract. When cutting, in order to ensure that the materials inside the grid do not leak out, it must be cut along the middle of the blank which has not been filled with materials outside the subgrade.


(3) Geocell filler. After the geocell is laid, it should be filled with materials within one day and covered within two days to avoid the aging and embrittlement of geocell materials caused by strong ultraviolet light. When filling geocell materials, manual and mechanical filling can be used to improve the work efficiency. The material can be hooked into the cell with an excavator, and then paved and tamped manually. After the cell is filled with materials, it shall be filled with 10 cm gravel or medium coarse sand, and then covered with soil. In order to ensure that the cell will not be damaged, 60 cm soil must be filled before heavy roller is allowed to roll.


Key points of process quality control in Geocell Confinement System production


1> The quality of the board directly affects the performance of the geocell manufacturer. In order to ensure the plasticization of resin, the * * single screw extruder with screw diameter of Φ 150 mm should be selected. The width of the plate is 1.0-2.0m, the thickness is 2-5mm, the surface should be flat and smooth, without bubbles, delamination or impurities, and the allowable thickness error is ± 0.2mm


2>. The mesh is processed by step-by-step automatic precision drilling machine, and the frequency of the punching machine must be in line with the production of the plate. Matching drawing speed, continuous automatic drilling. The diameter of plastic grid mesh is generally Φ 8 ~ Φ 15mm, and the hole distance is less than 20mm. The edge of forming hole is required to be smooth without flash to ensure the smooth progress of subsequent stretching.


3.> Temperature control Preheating temperature is the key to the size uniformity of tensile geogrid, which is closely related to the production speed. Generally, when drawing HDPE plate, the temperature is controlled at 140 ~ 160 ℃. Due to the small temperature error range, the heating mode is particularly important. Generally, the heating medium is water, which is heated to the specified temperature by electric heater. The plate is evenly heated through the preheating water tank and then stretched Oval grid.


4> Control of drawing speed Geogrid is formed by slowly heating and stretching to make the polymer molecular chain highly oriented along the stretching direction. The process requirements are strict. The stretching rate determines the stretching ratio and the physical properties of the geogrid. Generally, the stretching ratio can be adjusted at 5-8 times. The tensile strength of the geogrid without stretching is only 20-35mpa, while that of the geogrid with high stretching orientation can reach 150MPa
