There is nothing special but without any holes in the middle of the pulley , this is not specification but also a different feeling , actually the pulley on gym equipment is to be assembled and covered by steel plates for both of the front and back sides .the bearing in the middle of the pulley will be running around the steel shaft which to be stable with the machine ,so all body of the pulley will be moving after the power from the movement of exercise . frankly ,there is no any difference with hole or not .it is not to be found anytime .
