CAT 7 Class 7 cable is the latest type of twisted-pair cable in ISO Class 7 /F standards. Instead of being an unshielded twisted pair, CAT 7 is a shielded twisted pair, with each pair having a shielding layer and four pairs combined together with a common large shielding layer. Physically, the additional shielding gives the seven types of wires a larger wire diameter. From the application point of view, this feature makes CAT 7 seven types of network cable mainly used in ten-megabit Ethernet technology.
