The ASR 1001-X Router provides Data Center Interconnect (DCI) Services to support Overlay Transport Virtualization (OTV), Virtual Extensible LAN (VXLAN), Locator/ID Separation Protocol (LISP) and Virtual Private LAN Services (VPLS).

It also offers:

• Rich, feature-scalable Cisco Unified Border Element (CUBE) services for the enterprise
• Route reflector to increase network scaling

Note:

Two power supplies, either two AC power supplies or two DC power supplies are accessed from the rear of the router and are hot-swappable.

Four internal fans draw cooling air into the chassis and across internal components to maintain an acceptable operating temperature.
