The Lou Read armchair forms part of the collection for Paris's Royal Monceau hotel, refurbished last October 2010 by the designer and the past scene of a chance encounter with Lou Reed. Placed in every room, the chair is ideal for reading and talking – a reminder that it is far better to spend our time in these healthy activities than in front of the TV or computer. The organic form follows the function, supporting the arms when reading, and the leather covering is fixed directly to a glass-resin skeleton. LM
